Responsibilities:

General Ledger:
• Prepare journal entries to record bank activity on a weekly basis.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Reconcile the online store inventory with the fulfillment service.
• Reconcile Deferred subscription revenue.
• Assist the Financial Analyst in reconciliation of the due to and from S&T and all prepaid accounts.
Online Store Responsibilities:
• Manage the inventory in conjunction with other staff members.
• Ensure that the inventory at our fulfilment service is accurately maintained.
• Ensure that all inventory imports are accurate before entering into Solomon.
Accounts Payable:
• Prepare check requests weekly
• Manage the Skytel invoice mailbox.
• Prepare 1099 forms annually.
• Manage the payment of sales taxes from the magazine and store with all the required states.
• Assist in the review process of check runs and journal entries.
Accounts Receivable:
• Prepare invoices (advertising and misc) monthly.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable monthly.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
• Minimum five years of experience with double entry accounting required in a nonprofit, magazine publishing or government organization.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Experience with state sales tax reporting and tax remittance requirements.
• Experience managing merchandise inventory.
• Ability to read/interpret financial reports and to follow established accounting procedures with accuracy and care required.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word
• Proficiency with MS Dynamics SL preferred
• Familiarity with iMIS membership system preferred.
• Ability to meet insurance requirements for cash handling required. and
• Ability to execute responsibilities with light supervision required.
