- Morning: Brush with xylitol toothpaste, rinse with xylitol mouthwash, and sweeten tea/coffee with xylitol.

- Avoid diluting xylitol in liquids—use it directly in the mouth to maximize saliva production.
- Choose 100% xylitol products (gum, mints, toothpaste, nasal spray) and avoid those with sorbitol, maltitol, or acids.
- Aim for 5–10 grams total per day, but frequency matters more than quantity—consistent exposure starves harmful bacteria.
- Do not rinse after using xylitol toothpaste or mouthwash—let it remain in contact with teeth.
For best results, start with 1 heaped teaspoon (≈6–10g) 3 times a day for 30 days, then maintain with 1–2 teaspoons daily. Bulk xylitol (e.g., 1 kg bags) is cost-effective and practical.
