High-profile incidents, such as Google’s AI Overview falsely accusing a solar company of legal troubles (leading to an $110 million lawsuit), Air Canada being forced to honor a discount invented by its chatbot, and a $25 million fraud via AI voice cloning at Arup, have demonstrated the severe financial, legal, and reputational damage AI errors can cause.
