- Reform education and workforce development policies to better prepare workers of all ages for the new economy by expanding high school computer science education, adopting model curriculum standards, and shifting post-secondary funding toward outcome-driven metrics such as loan repayment rates and employment outcomes.
- Expand access to worker retraining grants and make micro-credentials and alternative education pathways more affordable and available to support upskilling and reskilling.
- Establish regulatory sandboxes for emerging technologies such as fintech, electric and autonomous vehicles, and drones to allow safe experimentation under supervision, attract innovation, and inform future regulation.
- Reduce regulatory barriers by adopting a “permissionless innovation” approach, shifting from rigid codified laws to flexible, informal guidelines that can adapt to rapid technological change.
- Modernize Ohio’s antiquated electric grid by investing in combined heat and power technology, renewable energy, and grid efficiency to reduce energy waste and lower costs for consumers.
- Invest in energy efficiency and green infrastructure, including weatherizing homes, upgrading industrial processes, and building a 21st-century transportation system with expanded public transit, electric vehicles, and safe pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure.
- Increase funding for career-technical education through a $200 million investment in Career-Tech Construction Grants to address waiting lists and support programs aligned with Ohio’s Top Jobs List.
- Allocate $2.5 billion through the All Ohio Future Fund to support site infrastructure, attract new businesses, and encourage workforce development across the state.
- Expand broadband access with $403 million in federal funding to build high-speed internet infrastructure and increase adoption in underserved communities.
- Support innovation hubs near anchor research institutions with $150 million to boost research and development, create new jobs, and strengthen economic conditions statewide.
