Creators can appeal these decisions, triggering a manual review by an expert who evaluates the video’s content, title, and metadata. This process can take up to 7 days, and the decision is final after one appeal.

Google Business Profile Video Verification

Businesses can verify their operations through video submissions. Google reviews these videos to confirm the business name is visible, the location is accurate, and the submitter has authorization. The review process can take up to 5 business days. If the video doesn’t meet requirements—such as missing storefront visibility or proof of operation—applicants receive feedback and can resubmit.

Handling Fake or Spam Reviews on Google

Google actively monitors and removes invalid reviews, often within 72 hours, using automated spam detection. Business owners are advised not to engage with suspicious reviews immediately, as interaction might signal legitimacy to the system. Instead, they should report the reviews and wait for Google’s automated systems to act. In cases of persistent fake reviews, legal action via cease-and-desist letters may be considered.
