The Two Witnesses Are NOT Who You Think…

Two Historical Figures: Some historicist views suggest the witnesses represent Moses and Elijah, whose ministries prefigure the end-time work, or Moses and Aaron, symbolizing the Word and the Spirit. Others propose Peter and Paul as representatives of the apostolic witness.
Symbolic Representations: A prevalent view interprets the witnesses not as people but as symbols. They may represent the Old and New Testaments (Law and Gospel), the Church (symbolized by the two lampstands), or the Word and the Spirit working in tandem to testify to God’s truth.
