99% of crypto tokens are predicted to go to zero because the market is saturated with approximately 40 million tokens, most of which lack long-term value or genuine adoption.

According to fund manager Chris Solarz, the crypto hedge fund sector is only 10 times less competitive than traditional finance, allowing managers to use outdated strategies, but this abundance of low-quality assets means only about 100 tokens are worth investing in.

Regulatory Pressure: Many altcoins will likely be declared unregistered securities, forcing them off exchanges due to the high cost of compliance or fines.

Market Dynamics: Retail investors have shifted toward memecoins, leaving a $30 billion liquid market insufficient to absorb the massive token unlocks scheduled for top 100 projects, preventing a general altcoin bull market.
Bitcoin Dominance: Bitcoin has won the network effect for decentralized money due to its security, trust, and lack of a central founder, while other coins suffer from insider dumps and a lack of sustained user growth.

More than half of all created crypto tokens have failed, with 2025 alone seeing over 11.6 million dead projects. The industry experiences a 99% failure rate due to low barriers to entry, supply dilution, over-reliance on hype over utility, and liquidation cascades.
